Hyderabad, Telangana

Overview

This biodiversity-focused initiative aims to conserve indigenous and rare plant species through multipurpose boundary plantations across the Institution’s green zones and the Maddur Road corridor near Kanha. Spanning over 100 acres of Institution land and a 2.6 km roadside stretch, the project includes the plantation of native trees and shrubs to enhance ecological balance, provide shade, and support local wildlife. Over 17,000 saplings representing diverse native species have already been planted, contributing to increased bird activity and improved habitat for reptiles and mammals. The project also involved employee volunteering initiatives and was supported by baseline soil and biodiversity assessments, with utilization certificates issued in line with project execution.
